Worm Bins

Worm Bins
What are you doing with the left over vegetables, fruit, eggshells, egg boxes, shredded newspapers, loose tea, tea bags, coffee grinds, cereal and oatmeal? They make the perfect food for earthworms in Worm Bins. Worm Bins have for a long time been used to convert kitchen waste into a fertiliser called ‘vermicompost’ which can be used on all plants, trees, lawns, all pot plants (even orchids and bonsai), vegetables and virtually anything that grows in soil.
18 Elements are considered essential for plant growth. Carbon, Oxygen and Hydrogen are supplied to the plant by air and water. The balance must be obtained from the soil. A deficiency of only one plant food nutrient can either prevent or reduce growth to unsatisfactory levels, or make plants vulnerable to diseases. Therefore organic fertilizers are applied to replenish nutrients in the soil. Talborne organic fertilizers are available at all leading nurseries.
